Georgia Tech researchers and students are advancing campus sustainability by using black soldier fly larvae to quickly convert food waste into an organic, nutrient-rich fertilizer. The hands-on project offers a fast, low-waste alternative to traditional composting, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and gives students firsthand experience with the practical — and often messy — work required to make sustainability solutions scale.
